Our Journey at the Echelon X Top100 Startups Program in Singapore

Hello Pawnec Community,

I am thrilled to share our recent experience at the Echelon X Top100 Startups Program in Singapore. Being part of this prestigious program has been an incredible journey for Pawnec, and I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the key takeaways, notable interactions, and the impact it has had on our company.

Pawnec and its CTO, Jay Fajardo

Key Takeaways

One of the most exciting aspects of the program was that Pawnec stood out as the only vet tech company among a diverse group of health tech startups. This unique positioning allowed us to showcase our innovative solutions in pet care and safety, and how they complement the broader health tech ecosystem. Interacting with other startups like Dentall, MedCheck, Mylo Speech Buddy, and NirogStreet provided us with valuable insights into the latest advancements in health technology, which we can integrate into our own vet tech solutions to bridge the widening gap between pet-friendly communities and public health.

Notable Interactions and Partnerships

A highlight of our participation was exploring a partnership with Twala, a startup recognized for its innovative digital security solutions. Twala's blockchain-based electronic signature technology can be integrated into our upcoming eHealth Card, ensuring the authenticity of veterinarian signatures. This is a significant step in combating the widespread issue of forged vaccine cards, particularly in the illegal sale of puppies and kittens.

One of the most fulfilling moments for me was meeting fellow pet parents, whether they were investors or startup founders. Many of them visited our booth and instantly connected with our vision. Their enthusiasm and validation as pet owners were incredibly rewarding and reaffirmed the value Pawnec brings to the pet community.

Mentorship and Guidance

The mentorship we received during the program was invaluable. I had the privilege of being mentored by Michel Blakely of Cocoon Capital, Ted Thetnaungsoe of A2D Ventures, and John Lim from Meet Ventures. Their guidance helped us refine our strategies, scale our operations, and navigate the challenges of rapid expansion. Their insights and expertise have been instrumental in shaping the future direction of Pawdel Inc.

Impact on Pawnec

The program has opened doors for Pawnec beyond the Philippine market. Investor organizations and industry collaborators from Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia have shown keen interest in our universal pet ID and unified pet database management system. This has inspired us to think bigger and work towards our mission of making every corner of the world a friendlier place for pets.

Memorable Moments

One of the most fulfilling moments for me was meeting fellow pet parents, whether they were investors or startup founders. Many of them visited our booth and instantly connected with our vision. Their enthusiasm and validation as pet owners were incredibly rewarding and reaffirmed the value Pawnec brings to the pet community.

Ramzy, Pawnec Co-Founder

Additionally, my co-founder Ramzy caught the attention of Epic Angels, a network of female angel investors, due to the underrepresentation of female founders and leaders in the tech startup industry, especially in Southeast Asia. Ramzy's maternal FurMom instincts are a driving force behind our company, and this recognition from Epic Angels underscores the importance of diverse leadership in driving innovation and success.

In conclusion, our journey at the Echelon X Top100 Startups Program has been transformative. It has provided us with invaluable insights, forged meaningful partnerships, and expanded our horizons. We are excited about the future and remain committed to innovating and enhancing the lives of pets and their owners.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Arrian Lim
