DOST–TAPI backs Pawnec with equity-free financial grant to advance clinical safety and efficiency in veterinary care

Pawnec has been approved for equity-free government support under the Department of Science and Technology’s TECHNiCOM program to accelerate the commercialization of Vetscribe (AI-assisted clinical documentation) and the eHealth Card (smart vaccination and health-record platform). The initiative emphasizes minimizing clinical errors, improving efficiency, and advancing One Health outcomes across communities. (Program: http://www.tapi.dost.gov.ph/call-for-proposals/technicom)

Why veterinary health is public health

Companion-animal care often relies on paper cards and after-hours note-taking—conditions that risk missed vaccinations and documentation gaps. Pawnec’s platform frees vets from paperwork paralysis, turning each visit into real-world clinical intelligence that supports timely vaccination, clear follow-up plans, and verifiable medical history.

Alignment with national priorities

The project supports the broader One Health agenda and qualified under Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation Technologies—where resilient, connected veterinary systems reduce preventable disease, improve outbreak readiness, and strengthen community well-being.

What the support enables

Over a one-year commercialization sprint, we will:

  • Enhance point-of-care documentation (Vetscribe) and expand smart vaccination workflows (eHealth Card) with color-coded signals, automated reminders, and OTP-verified vaccine records.
  • Deploy with clinics/LGUs using an implementation plan that covers personnel, operating, and equipmentrequirements (e.g., laptops for UI/UX & development; clinical deployment materials).
  • Drive environmental gains by shrinking paper use and replacing paper booklets with secure digital records—aligned with our quarterly reduction targets.

The bigger picture: towards Zero Rabies 2030

For more than a century, the Philippines has fought rabies through various campaigns. We believe better coverage, reminders, and verifiable records are how we finally close the gap. Pawnec’s structured, vet-verified data makes it easier for clinics and cities to reach and sustain high vaccination rates—one of the most effective steps to prevent rabies.

What “equity-free” means for partners and pet parents

While we’re keeping the amount undisclosed, this is a multi-million-peso commitment that accelerates our roadmap without dilution—so we can scale faster with the same mission focus you expect from us.

What’s next for you?

  • Clinics & LGUs: Pilot or scale digital vaccination + Vetscribe with us.
  • Veterinary leaders: Explore how clinical intelligence can improve patient outcomes and team well-being.
  • Pet parents: Ask your vet about the Pawnec eHealth Card.

For vets. For pets. For a future that’s covered.
